Transitional Kitchen Remodel in the Shadow Wood neighborhood of Estero, FL
This Estero couple found Progressive Design Build on Houzz and decided to attend our first home remodeling seminar in the spring of 2019. Impressed with what they learned, the couple decided to move forward with a design-build home remodel from Progressive Design Build.
Challenge
Our clients’ primary goal for this remodel was to tone down the original Mediterranean style design, once popular in the Shadow Wood neighborhood. They wanted to replace it with a more contemporary style that included new cabinetry, lighter finishes, updated lighting, and all new appliances.
Solution
Progressive Design Build began designing a solution that included removing the dated archways, columns, and dark faux finishes. The kitchen cabinets were replaced with white decorative shaker style cabinets with recessed panels. This effectively helped to light up the room and bring it up to date. The stacked cabinets were designed with glass-paneled doors and in-cabinet lighting perfect for highlighting kitchen collectibles. A simple yet stunning white subway tile backsplash defined the clean, contemporary look our clients were looking for.
Appliance panels on both the refrigerator and the dishwasher completed the look with plenty of new drawer and cabinet space that satisfied the homeowners’ need for storage. In particular, was a unique storage cabinet designed to house an impressive collection of treasured cookbooks.
The existing dual-level bar was replaced with a sizeable one-level peninsula made of stunning marble-inspired Quartz that accommodated seating for three.
The existing tile floor was replaced with a medium stain hardwood creating warmth and a stunning contrast in the all-white kitchen. Other highlights include all new crown molding throughout the home, lighter paint color on the walls, and updated lighting.
Results
With a renovation that completed seven days ahead of schedule and on budget, this Estero couple couldn’t be more pleased with their home remodel.
“Mike and his team just completed a complete kitchen renovation for us (which also involved other rooms in the house) and we could not be happier with the final result. His relentless honesty, integrity, and focus on details let us be comfortable putting our home in his hands while we were out of town for the summer. The entire PDB team, including subcontractors, had a quality focus that was very evident. Communication during the summer was excellent. We had photos every week. All of our special requests were met with a “can-do” attitude that is often missing today. There was meticulous attention to the smallest details…and the whole project was completed on time and within our budget. PDB was a great company to work with and we cannot recommend them more highly.”
