We have a great idea for your next remodeling project that not only helps you but also goes for a good cause to help people in our communities.

Instead of throwing away your countertops, sinks, lighting, flooring and other existing items that will be replaced, consider donating them to Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore, nonprofit home improvement stores and donation centers.

When Progressive Builders is hired for your remodeling project, we will do all the work for you. We will coordinate to have your old items – assuming they are in good condition – recycled to local ReStores where others have the opportunity to purchase them at a substantial discount.

ReStore Customers
Some of Re-Store’s customers are first-time homeowners who otherwise may not be able to afford brand new items like countertops, closet systems and the like. Some are Habitat for Humanity clients who help build their homes and can purchase the household items that are donated to the nonprofit. Do-it-yourselfers love the idea of buying slightly used materials for their remodeling projects as well.

One of our remodeling projects in Bonita Springs is a good example, as we coordinated the donated materials to the nearby Re-store in Bonita Springs. You may be asking yourself by now, “We’ll if I am remodeling, doesn’t that mean my existing countertops, baths, sinks, etc., are in poor condition and can’t be used again?
Not necessarily. We have completed a number of remodeling jobs in places such as Shadow Wood at The Brooks, Gulf Harbour Yacht & Country Club in Fort Myers and Bonita Bay in Bonita Springs.

The clients had really nice kitchens, but they wanted something new, so their existing materials like appliances and light fixtures were in great shape. That’s the type of donation that makes a lot of sense for this program.

Even if you have just a few lights or a few plumbing fixtures, they can be donated. You should also note that your donation may be tax deductible, so we’ll make sure you get the proper documentation to prove your generosity.

Homeownership Made Easier
It’s also important to note that Habitat for Humanity’s ReStores help people realize their dream of homeownership. For many, owning a home in Southwest Florida builds stability and confidence, especially among younger people just starting out. It is a stepping-stone for good things to come in their future. Habitat for Humanity helps make that connection for people who may not have had that chance before. They also have to work hard for it.

Stop by a ReStore sometime and you’ll see there are some nice, top-quality household materials for sale. It’s a true win-win for all involved. Give us a call for your next remodeling project and we’ll tell you more!
